Couldnt agree with you more. I only discovered the power and use of Social Networking after I lost my job. I now realize how few people in the aviation business are using this type of media. Pilots and aviation in general have had a very “conservative” approach to new communication technologies, but in this 24/7 instant news world it is an absolute NECESSITY that we use these new mediums. As you pointed out, the USA Today article about small airports could have easily been countered if the indsutry was more PROACTIVE in the use of social media. Business aviaiton has been REACTIVE to long. Its time we take the lead in the social media world.

Loved the insight and could not agree with you more. I wish I could have made it to the NBAA, if for nothing other than to meet share information that you witnessed. We too are doing something similar on Facebook with a Business and Aviation Group type forum and discussion. The best way to solve problems is by discussing them ideally, before they happen
