I agree with your thoughts that we have been selling to the wrong crowd or as they say in church "preaching to the choir". Social technology enables us to efficiently communicate our message and sell our value proposition to the other Joe who has yet to use our form of travel.

Ive said it before and I will say it again. The key to going on the offense in the General Aviation debate is to stop selling to "Joe Pilot" and start selling to "Joe Blow." The No Plane No Gain campaign is effective, but the message is all wrong. First of all those ads are being shown at FBO and industy expos. Its need to be on PRIME TIME TV when the rest of America is watching. In addition, while Arnold Palmer is a good spoksperson, the key to getting ahead of the debate is to stop using sports figures and movie starts and start showing REGULAR people. Think of it like a political campaingn (because it is). The best way to relate to the average American, to show the human face of the decline of General Aviation is to put someone who is a line worker from Wichita or Savannah or any of a number of places that has lost his/her job because of the "perception" of business aviation. Show the American people that this person is not some rich "fat cat" but just an honest Joe trying to make a living and survive on unemployment. I think it would have FAR more impact. Lets start swinging by showing that Business and General Aviation effects everyone livelihood from the richest to the poorest.
